For infared, it was assuming that the TV remote thing that came with this PC was another form of touchscreen input, so it is a high possibility that any external devices or internal transcievers as in my case could play a role in the problem.

Joeten- that is where i have been looking. Those Microsoft eHome devices or drivers need to be disabled in order to allow the game to “see” the tilde key being pressed. BB code is on.
In device manager I’ve tried to disable the Microsoft eHome IR Transceiver device, however I guess its been marked as essential hardware as the Disable button microsof greyed out and unavailable. Page 1 of 2. Maybe there is something we are overlooking that we need to take care of on a custom basis? I have tried this countless times on my machine and the disable function is greyed?
On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager. One more thing go into msconfig and get rid of any extra start up items that are unnecessary, hopefully one of them might control the IR reciever too.

I can even re-enable Voltron again if I disable it’s service in services. There really ought to be a better way of going about it than this! I can take a look and see what’s causing you trouble, if you like. At the top, locate the “Driver tab”. Just a uninstall option.
